Earlier this week Poppy attended the Norfolk Farming Conference. It was very interesting for her to speak to Victoria from Nourishing Norfolk and the Norfolk Community Foundation. She's so impressed by the work of their food hubs, including in Wymondham, not only providing food to families who need it, but also building relationships and understanding the full complexity of people's situations.
They talked about:
Clarity and simplicity in our benefits system, so people can plan their finances
The need for cross-system thinking, making sure different parts of government are working together
The power of dedicated volunteers who can build relationships with those who are struggling, to make long-term change in their lives
